Entrepreneurs Life Story

Sanjay Vijaykumar, Sijo Kuruvilla George and Pranav Suresh

Were engineering students in Trivandrum, and started off their first business by selling SIM card packages for students. Their company MobME began with mobile content for movie and TV promotion. Investment also came from wealthy Keralites in India and overseas. But their biggest idea was to amplify their success via Startup Village: to create an innovation hub like YCombinator and ultimately create a ‘Silicon Coast’ – which eventually found support from the government and private sector. As a result, Kerala has become the first state in India with an official student entrepreneurship policy.

Goal For Life

Ghanshyam Das Birla (1894 – 1983)

Shrewd Businessman

Inheriting his family’s money-lending business, Birla diversified into manufacturing. He moved to Calcutta to establish a textiles business, much to the displeasure of European and British merchants in the area, who did their best to shut Birla’s business down. Birla had to overcome not only resistance from established players but also the biased policies of the British government which discriminated against Bengali traders.
In the 1940s, Birla purchased Hindustan Motors and continued to diversify his business, investing in tea, cement, chemicals, and rayon. He was also the first Indian to found a commercial bank, the United Commercial Bank Limited. Now Aditya Birla group operates in more than 33 countries, employs over 133,000 people and has annual revenues of over $35 billion.
Birla also founded the Birla Engineering College - now the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, which is now one of the nation’s best engineering schools.

☺Friendship Forever☺

Two inseparable friends, Sam and Jason, met with an accident on their way to Boston City. The following morning, Jason woke up blind and Sam was still unconscious. Dr. Berkeley was standing at his bedside looking at his health chart and medications with a thoughtful expression on his face. When he saw Sam awake, he beamed at him and asked." How are you feeling today Sam?" Sam tried to put up a brave face and smiled back saying, "absolutely wonderful Doctor. I am very grateful for all that you have done for me. "Dr Berkeley was moved at Sam's deed. All that he could say was, "You are a very brave man Sam and God will make it up to you in one way or another". While he was moving on to the next patient, Sam called back at him almost pleading, "promise me you won't tell Jason anything".
"You know I won't do that. Trust me." and walked away.
"Thank you " whispered Sam. He smiled and looked up in prayer " I hope I live up to your ideas...please give me the strength to be able to go through this..Amen"

Months later when Jason had recuperated considerably, he stopped hanging around with Sam. He felt discouraged and embarrassed to spend time with a disabled person like Sam.
Sam was lonely and disheartened ,since he didn't have any body else other than Jason to count on. Things went from bad to worse. And one day Sam died in despair. When Jason was called on his burial, he found a letter waiting for him. Dr Berkeley gave it to him with an expressionless face and said" This is for you Jason. Sam had asked me to give it to you when he was gone".

In the letter he had said: " Dear Jason, I have kept my promise in the end to lend you my eyes if anything had happened to them. Now there is nothing more that I can ask from God, than the fact, that will see the world through my eyes. You will always be my best friend........Sam".
When he had finished reading Dr. Berkeley said " I had promised Sam to keep his sacrifice he made a secret from you. But now I wish I didn't stick it Because I don't think It was worthy it".
All that was left for Jason while he stood there was tears of regret and memories of Sam for the rest of his life.

Lesson of the story:-
No matter what If we make a friend, we should stick by him till the end. Life is meaningless without a friend.

TELECOME GURU
❤The telecom sector is expected to create two million jobs this year, thanks to increased data penetration and entry of new service providers, says a report.

The entry of new service providers, the government's initiatives like 'Make in India' and thrust on mobile economy will also add to the buoyancy in the sector, it said.

"While the overall hiring will see a boost, the verticals that will drive the manpower requirement are handset makers (1.76 million) followed by the service providers (0.37 million)," said the report compiled by TeamLease along with Telecom Sector Skill Council.

With 5G technology, it added, the infrastructure sector will catch up and add a plethora of opportunities in the long run.

"Infrastructure will add 0.92 million jobs by 2020-21 and the overall labour requirement for the sector by 2021 will be over 8.7 million," it added.

"While the increased focus on affordability, reduction of the prices of handset, operator's investments in improving networks, demonetisation and the following push for adoption of digital wallets will boost the availability of job openings in the sector, the sector still seems to be grappling with skill deficit," TeamLease Services Senior Vice President Neeti Sharma said.

The sector requires skills in areas such as IoT, mobility solutions, telecom infrastructure, network architectures, sales amongst others.

Some key profiles that will see rise in demand in 2017 are network engineers, infra and cyber security professionals, application developers, system engineers, I-DAS engineers, in shop sales executives, handset manufacturing technicians, call center executives, services & infrastructure technicians , back office & administration, repair executives among others, the report added.
